Would You Rather? Beauty Edition

Today is my husband's birthday and I have a day off from work. Because we are so exciting, we will probably spend most of the day on the couch, watching The Dan Patrick Show and updating this very blog. (No, the husband won't be updating, he occasionally will read over my shoulder and then quickly run away with a look of confusion.)

I snatched up this tag from Rachel White (check her out!) and thought it would be a nice post while I get my Birchbox reviews together.



Would you rather lose all of your mascaras, eyeliners, lipsticks, and lipglosses or lose all of your palettes and eyeshadows?

Palettes and eyeshadows. I couldn't live without mascara and I could also use the eyeliner or lipstick as eyeshadow.


Would you rather chop off all your hair or never be able to cut it again?

Never be able to cut it again. My hair will naturally grow to almost my butt and then just stop growing. I'd rather have that and deal with split ends with treatments than not have any hair at all.

Would you rather have a coral cheek or a pink cheek?

Pink cheeks. Corals and oranges do not look good with my skin tone. Currently I am wearing alot of very light pink, such as Benefit's Posietint.

If you had £1000 to spend, Would you rather buy clothes or makeup?

If I had £1000 that would actually be a little over $1500 American, not that it matters since the amount is arbitrary. I think I just wanted to show off my ability to calculate the exchange rate between pounds. (Thanks Top Gear!) Anyway, I would buy clothes. I currenly have plenty of makeup but not as many articles of clothing that fit.
 

Would you rather apply lipstick as eyeliner, or eyeliner as lipstick?

Neither? Is that an option? I just keep picturing the horrible pink eye like look my eyes would get if I used any of the lipsticks I am currently loving as eyeliner. Or how ridiculous my lips would look in dark brown or dark green liner. I guess lipstick as eyeliner, hopefully I could blend the pink eye away.

Would you rather only shop at MAC or Sephora?

MAC Mythology



Sephora. Great sales, samples, different brands, different types of beauty products. This may be some sort of beauty sin, but I am not in love with MAC. I have an eyeshadow (Mythology) that I love the color of, but the shimmer in it (or perhaps the formula) irritates my eyes by the end of the day. I've used a few other products but for the price of them I'd rather get more from a different brand.

Would you rather only use one eyeshadow color or one lip color for the rest of your life?

One lip color. I've only recently got braver with lip color so I don't think I would have a problem only using one.


Would you rather wear winter clothes in summer or summer clothes in winter?

Summer clothes in winter. Oklahoma summers can be downright brutal and I really cannot be overheated unless I want to have a massive headache and be throwing up. I normally wear just whatever I wear any other time of year in the winter plus a coat.

Would you rather have dark nails or bright nails all year round?


This one is a tough one. I am currently so in love with Color Club Antiquated (From their 2011 Foiled Collection, I picked up a set from Ross for $8, score!) but I don't really see it as dark or bright.
 

Leaving out Antiquated, I think I would have to go with dark. I don't normally wear alot of super bright colors and I think that I would have more choices if I went with dark.





Would you rather give up your favorite lip product or your favorite eye product?

Favorite lip product. If I had to give up my Stila In The Light palette or my ModelCo. Fibre LashXtend Mascara, I'd probably just give up on all makeup in general.


Would you rather only be able to wear your hair in a pony tail or a messy bun?

Messy bun. Although currently my hair isn't long enough to put up in a bun. When it is long enough, I normally have it in a bun because it's easy, stays out of my way at work and when it's hot, and looks cute and put together.

Would your rather never be able to paint your nails again or never use lipgloss?

Never use lipgloss. I don't use it that often as it is and I paint my nails two or three times a week. I get bored with the color easily and I am very hard on my nails and chip the crap out of most polish. I like the natural color of my lips and don't feel like I need to wear lipstick/lipgloss all the time.


Would you rather shave your eyebrows and have none at all? or sharpie them in everyday?

Eyebrows! Brought to you by genetics!

HUH? Neither. I love my eyebrows and I get compliments all the time. Everyone thinks that I have them done professionally or that I wax or something, but they are just naturally great and only need a little tweezing to clean them up. They aren't perfect or symmetrical, but they have great shape and character. (I don't really brag on my physical features all that often but I have no problem bragging about my eyebrows.) I guess if some extenuating cirmcumstances came about I would choose to draw them in, but never with a Sharpie. I'd use a regular pencil before I would use a Sharpie.

Would you rather live without makeup or nail polish?

As much as it pains me to say this, I would have to choose to keep makeup. (Living without nail polish would be a sad existence.) Makeup is almost a necessity at times (i.e. when I wake up and look like some sort of ghoul) and it could potentially be unprofessional to not have atleast some makeup on. As I am typing this I am noticing that I didn't make my choice based on my favorite, but more on what is practical and logical. My first thought was nail polish, hands down, but it just makes more sense to go with makeup.
 

I love tags like this, but I am also glad that this is just hypothetical questions. I don't think I could handle truly making these decisions.
